DAR fulfilled promise to Ati Tribal Community in Boracay

This is true expectation.  Boracay Ati Tribal Organization (BATO) leader David Tamboon could not quite believe that government support are now raining upon them despite the summer drought that visited the Philippines.

According to him, compared to previous government projects that has been left hanging and bared completion, this endeavor by the DAR, is taking concrete and detailed steps towards the delivery of the proposed project. Each stakeholder in this convergence has formally committed their contribution to the success of this program.

Tribal Chief Delsa Justo also shares the same positive sentiments towards the proposed project.

Past undertakings for the BATO usually takes a lot of anticipation before any change can be felt by the community. Even until now, some of the promises remain undelivered.

Based on her experience, Chief Delsa says that dreams without goals will forever remain as dreams. But this proposal is different. It is deliverable in every detail until its full accomplishment.

In 2018 during the CLOA Distribution in Boracay, Secretary John R. Castriciones left a promise  that DAR will be providing the farmer beneficiaries with support services to maximize their productivity. This is now the start of the fulfillment of that promise.

David Tambo-on and Chief Delsa were just two of the many members of the Ati community who attended the Stakeholders’ Forum for the Boracay Ati Tribal Organization (BATO) and the Newly CARP-Covered Lands in Boracay held last April 4, 2019 at Grande Royale Restaurante, Marzon Hotel in Andagao, Kalibo, Aklan.

The conduct of the forum was made possible thru the office of the Undersecretary for Support Services Emily O. Padilla who at the same time delivered her message of support and solidarity.  Regional  Director Stephen M. Leonidas, CESO III gave his welcome remarks and PARPO II Ma. Teresa Valencia presented the rationale of the forum.

Selected DAR regional and provincial personnel along with the representatives from the different partner agencies also attended the forum.
