DAR Central Visayas inks P11.4 M deal for farm tools

Farm machineries and equipment will soon be on their way to agrarian reform beneficiaries organizations (ARBO) of Central Visayas after the regional office of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) recently signed procurement contracts worth a total of P 11.43 million.

The purchase of these implements is under the Climate Resilient Farm Productivity Support Project (CRFPSP) which is DAR's mode of providing vital tools to help increase the farm productivity of its farmer-beneficiaries.

During the contract signing last May 20 in Cebu City, DAR Region VII Director Engr. Marion Y. Abella, CESO V, represented the Department in its transaction with four business groups.

Ford Tractor Philippines, Inc., represented by its branch manager, Vivian C. Tomoy, inked a deal worth P 3.144 M for three units of 35 HP four-wheel drive tractor.

Suki Trading Corporation, represented by its sales and marketing head, Albert M. dela Torre, signed a contract price of P4.179 million for three corn husher and shellers; two mechanical rice transplanters, one portable feed mill, 12 mechanical reapers, three multi-cultivators/hand sugarcane cultivators, and a coffee parchment huller machine.

P.I. Farm Products, Inc., led by its representative Ma. Aurora B. Ardina, entered into a P3.156-million agreement a 35 HP tractor, 12 hand tractors, three floating tillers, and three mechanical rice threshers.

The Universal Commercial Corporation, represented by Jonese S. Osia, signed a contract price of P 0.96 million for four shredders.

Director Abella said that the DAR continues to provide support services that will help improve the lives of its farmer-beneficiaries.
