Bogo City, Cebu (Feb. 13, 2020)– The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) yesterday turned over a Tulay ng Pangulo para sa Kaunlarang Pang-Agraryo (TPKP) project to the city government of Bogo, Cebu.
The 28.80-linear meter Malingin Bridge now connects the residents of five barangays in the area, namely Malingin, Anonang Norte, Anonang Sur, Lapaz and Binabag.
DAR funded the construction of the TPKP project worth more than P28 million and implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
Undersecretary for Foreign-Assisted and Special Projects Office Bernie F. Cruz emphasized that good governance and sustainability are important for the project to last a long time.
“Lagi po naming ibinibilin na sa pagtatapos ng paggawa nasa pangangalaga na ninyo ang project. Alam naman natin, malaki ang maitutulong nito sa community, sa pag-progress ng bayan.” Cruz said. “Pangalagaan at panatilihing nasa maayos na kondisyon ang project para marami pang henerasyon ang makinabang”.
Regional Director Atty. Resty C. Osias, on the other hand, cited the presence of four agrarian reform beneficiaries’ organizations in the area with 360 agrarian reform beneficiaries whose members will benefit from the project. These are the Nagkahiusang Mag-uuma/Mamumuo para sa Repormang Agraryo, Hacienda Filomena ARB Association, Anonang Norte ARB Association, and Anonang Norte Farmers Association (ANFA).
The event was graced by Bogo City Mayor Atty. Carlos Jose A. Martinez, DPWH, BMC-UPMO Project Manager III Ramonito C. Jimenez, and Barangay Captain of Malingin Arnel F. Catadman.
Other DAR officials who witnessed the TPKP project turnover were OIC, PARPO II of DAR Cebu Varinia B. Fabillar, OIC-CARPO of PPBDD Randolph A. Olvis, Bago City Cluster MARPO Merlinda Miraflores.
