Women farmers of CARP! They Count!

Did you know that 24% of the total 1,845,272 are women farmers? There are about 506,571women who are actual recipient of land title, as a firm push to the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Law of 1988 which guarantees equal rights to land ownership and equal shares of the farm's produce. It may probably be a small step but still is a leap towards giving women strong voice in the pursuit of rural development. With the Bureau of Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Development (BARBD'S) support to the Centro Saka Inc., (CSI) an institution that pushes for the rights of the marginalized women farmers - the effort to raise the recognition of women farmers as CARP agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) is gaining a milestone in the history of the department. This is also a conscious effort to ensure monitoring of the number of women ARBs nationwide.
