PARO'S PROFILE
PARO Alfredo Baggao Lorenzo, Jr. or more popularly known as PARO Bong by his colleagues, friends and employees in the province was born on December 6, 1957 by Ilocano spouses Alfredo Lorenzo, Sr. and Caridad Baggao of Isabela province.
PARO Bong, during his schooldays, was known to be a brilliant guy. He graduated as Valedictorian at the Ilagan Pilot Elementary School in 1970. He again graduated with honors at the Isabela National High School in 1974. As his parents realized his interest in studying, they sent him to the University of the Philippines(UP) where he took up and finished Bachelor of Science in Agriculture in 1980.
Soon after his graduation, he was employed as a Livelihood Coordinator at the Ministry of Human Settlement where he served for almost six years. His experience with the said company was used extensively by him when he was employed at the Department of Agrarian Reform Provincial Office of Cagayan in 1990 as the Chief Agrarian Reform Officer(CARPO) for the Beneficiaries Development and Coordination Division(BDCD). He was then exposed to serving the less fortunate people especially the Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries(ARBs) in Cagayan.
Being the head of the BDCD, he led in the provision of support services to the different Agrarian Reform Communities. He spearheaded the identification of the needs of the communities in terms of physical infrastructure, institutional building, credit assistance and others. His trainings on rural development, linkaging, planning, organizing, supervision and other related groundworks made him successful in his career.
During his term as the CARPO-BDCD, a lot of trials came his way but because of his firmness and persistence, he came to realize his struggles to uplift the living of most ARBs in the province. Because of this he was designated as the OIC-PARO II of Cagayan on December 2007. This was then the start of his more dedicated service with the Department. He focused on attaining the province's target on Land Tenure Improvement(LTI), Delivery of Support Services(SS) and Delivery Agrarian Justice(DAJ) that empowered the beneficiaries in the whole province.
As a fruit of his efforts, he was finally appointed as full-pledged PARO II on July 29, 2008. His present key position contributes greatly to the department's successful implementation of its mandate and caused the renewed trust of our constituents. He is actively and aggressively pursuing Her Excellency's program of government and is increasing efforts at pursuing the President's SONA commitment on land reform.
PARO Bong is married to Carolina N. Mamba of Tuao, Cagayan. They are blessed with three children namely Angelo Nino, Alfredo Francisco and Adcel Maria.
