Agusan Norte Agrarian Reform coop wins Land Bank's Gawad Pitak 2014 award

piaBUTUAN CITY, Oct. 3 (PIA) -- Baug Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) Beneficiaries Multi-Purpose Cooperative (BCBMPC) in Agusan del Norte was recognized as this year's 24th Annual Ginintuang Gawad sa Pinakatanging Kooperatiba (Gawad Pitak 2014) awardee under the agri-based category during the celebration of Land Bank’s 51st Anniversary held at the Land Bank Plaza, Malate, Manila.

BCBMPC General Manager and Agrarian Reform Beneficiary (ARB) Luxmie B. Auxillo said that this year is the most prestigious award given by the Land Bank to BCBMPC where the cooperative became the 1st placer in agri-based category where it won P1 million worth of fixed assets.

“This is another year of spectacular achievements of BCBMPC. Last year, the cooperative also validated with the conferment of Hall of Fame award under the agri-based category where it won P100,000 worth of fixed assets,” Luxmie added.

After a decade of spectacular growth, the cooperative has grown exponentially and brighten the lives of its members particularly the need of ARB in Agusan del Norte to earn a living that creates a positive impact in the community.

BCBMPC is purely managed by ARB farmers. It operates in different municipalities in Agusan del Norte and extends services in some areas in Caraga Region.

Another awardee is Ruben M. Ragas of Sanghan Agrarian Reform Community (ARC) in Agusan del Norte who conferred  as 1st runner-up under Ulirang Magsasaka category for his exemplary contribution to community development and in diversified farming system that promotes environmental protection.
