manila bulletin blue logoButuan City – Farmers from remote areas are seen to increase their rice production with the newly constructed P8.8-million irrigation project in Adlay, Carrascal, Surigao del Sur. The farmers are agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARB’s) of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), who are members of the Adlay Integrated System Farmers’ Cooperative (ADISFAMCO). “These farmer beneficiaries will surely benefit from this irrigation project while also addressing the food security in the province,” DAR-13 Director Faisar A. Mambuay told Manila Bulletin. The provincial, municipal and barangay officials vowed to maintain and sustain the irrigation project, which was funded under the Agrarian Reform Infrastructure Support Project Phase lll.
