Dinagat agrarian coops undergo trainors’ training

piaSAN JOSE, Dinagat Islands, Apr. 1 (PIA)  – The Department of Agrarian Reform in Dinagat Islands (DAR-PDI) facilitated recently a four-day Trainors’ Training of its 20 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations (ARBOs) in line with the Big-Brother and Small-Brother Cooperative strategy held at Dinagat Island Multipurpose Coop Training Center in Barangay Aurelio, this municipality.

The training was aimed to enhance the capabilities of the ARBOs’ officers as they underwent on-the-job trainings with their Big-brother coops and to capacitate the cooperative officers in the facilitation and conduct of trainings.

This strategy identifies one Big Brother cooperative, in this case the A&M Multi-purpose Cooperative, and Small Brother cooperatives, the ARBOs being assisted by the DAR.

The participants said they are very grateful that DAR-PDI took the initiative to train them and that they are very happy that they are now at least equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to conduct trainings in their own cooperatives in the future.

The training was funded under the Bottoms-Up Budgeting (BUB) budget of the DAR in partnership with the local government here.

Regina G.  Fernandez of the Development Academy of the Philippines - Davao Branch was the lone resource person of the said training. (SDR/Daryll M. Tumbaga, Evangeline Oriat, DAR-PDI/PIA-Dinagat Islands)
