Farmer leaders undergo management training

WEB CARAGA TRAINFarmer-leaders of agrarian reform beneficiaries organizations (ARBOs) in Agusan del Norte underwent a cooperative management training to enhance their capabilities in running the affairs of their agricultural enterprises.

Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer Andre B. Atega said “the training aims to help these farmer-leaders to effectively deal with business problems that they encounter in managing a cooperative.”

The training was attended by forty (40) ARBO farmer-leaders and officers that include managers, secretaries, treasurers and bookkeepers from different ARBOs in Las Nieves agrarian reform communities (ARCs).

“This [training] will also improve their skills in business development so that they will improve their competitive performance in the market,” Atega said.

Resource speaker Roger O. Fabe, Executive Director of the Resource Development Experience (RDE) Consultancy said “the participants actively joined in the various topics discussed. They also shared their common experiences and presented their proposed goals for their organizations.”

The three-day training on Cooperative Management and Governance is one of the required 14 mandatory training courses of the Cooperative and Development Authority (CDA). It was conducted on June 2-4, 2015 at the Municipal Gym in Las Nieves, Agusan del Norte. (Gil E. Miranda)
