DAR holds strategic planning workshop for AgSur coops

piaPROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur, Sept. 14, 2015 (PIA) - Four major cooperatives in Agusan del Sur recently attended a three-day strategic planning workshop conducted by the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Provincial Office in order to assist coop leaders develop understanding regarding the importance of a well-planned strategic plan believed to help improve their leading and managing skills for a productive cooperatives.

The strategic planning workshop was held at the Agusan del Sur Savers Multi-purpose Cooperative (ASSAMCO) participated by the representatives and coop leaders from Tudela Damsite Tribal Development Cooperative (TUDATRIDEVCO) of Trento, Panagangan Women Multi-Purpose Cooperative (PWMPC) of La Paz, Sto. Tomas ARB farmers MPC (STARTBFAMPCO) of Loreto and the Bong ARB Multi-Purpose Cooperative (BARBMPC) of Bunawan.

The workshop was facilitated by DAR - Program Beneficiaries Development Division (Social Infrastructure and Local Capability Building or SILCAB) aimed to help cooperatives develop strategic plans that are realistic and attainable, to help them acknowledge their strength, address weaknesses, pursue opportunities and recognize potential threats that could affect coop development.

As leaders of their respective cooperatives, DAR Agusan del Sur looks forward that they should be efficient in their duties and responsibilities thus in return helping their agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARB) members. (Cyrene Tajonera, DAR-Surigao del Sur/PIA-Agusan del Sur)
