Close to 1,000 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) are expected to boost their farm production while also improving their living condition after the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) recently turned over some infrastructure projects in Surigao del Sur.
Two of the projects which were the recently completed and turned over are the farm-to-market road (FMR) project, and a bridge in Barobo town, Surigao del Sur.
DAR 13 Regional Director Julita A. Ragandang said the amount of these two infrastructure projects have reached more than P49 million.
These two projects will surely spur the farming condition in the three farming barangays and other neighboring areas in that progressive town of Barobo, Ragandang said.
“This will also surely improve their (farmers) living condition as fast transport of their farm products will arrive on time to various markets in that province,” stressed the region’s top DAR official.
Ragandang expressed gratitude to the provincial and municipal officials led by Gov. Johnny T. Pimentel for their support, particularly in raising the counterpart fund, which she said was essential in realizing the projects.
In another development, Agusan del Norte Gov. Ma. Angelica Rosedell M. Amante-Matba also reported on Sunday that at least 3,791 individuals were given free medical assistance, transportation and education in Agusan del Norte under the provincial government Integrated Social Development Assistance Program (ISDAP).
The budget of the social development program for the less-fortunate in Agusan del Norte by the provincial government of Agusan del Norte has already reached to P14.9 million for 2015, it was learned.
This year, the provincial government is allocating P8 million for the same social program.
