Recognition of the right of women to be equally significant as men in the development of the agrarian reform areas was the main purpose of the said workshop.

Some 35 ARBs participated in the workshop. All were members of different cooperatives in Agusan del Sur namely, the Dacutan Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative (DAFAMCO), Bayugan II Mt. Spring Mutli-Purpose Coop (B2MS MPC), National Guthrie Estate Inc. Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Multi-Purpose Coop (NGEI ARB MPC), Lumad sa Adgawan Multi-Purpose Coop (LAMUPCO), Cebolin Multi-Purpose Coop (CEMPCO), Los Arcos Multi-Purpose Coop (LAMPCO), Magkiangkang Multi-Purpose Coop (MAMPC) and the Remedios Farmers Multi-Purpose Coop (REFAMCO).

The department’s way to support ARBs is to teach them the vitality to promote the rights of all individuals, mitigating the unequal effects of gender biased in each community and optimization of the actual and potential distinctive contributions of women to the achievement of the goals of the ARB organizations.
