The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Agusan del Norte conducted a one-day workshop on Agri-business Venture Arrangements (AVAs) to thresh out issues and concerns encountered by Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations (ARBOs).
DAR Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer Andre B. Atega said the workshop discussed the current status of farmer-cooperatives who are engaged in AVAs.
“The participant-ARBOs are those who entered into agreements with investors. They are the Soriano Farmworkers Cooperative (SFWC), Maong Integrated Farmers Association (MIFA), and Cabadbaran Fruits Corporation (CFC),” said Atega.
AVAs Point Person Virgilio Ignacio said “the workshop laid out necessary details and consolidated issues in preparation for the coming three-day Implementers’ Evaluation Workshop to be held in Davao City.”
The workshop was facilitated by Ignacio, together with the Program Beneficiaries Development Division (PBDD) Lawyering Team under the leadership of Atega. It was held at Balanghai Conference Hall on October 13, 2016. (Gil E. Miranda)
