DAR, CDA spearhead 'Dispute Resolution' orientation to SurSur ARB cooperatives

pia-logoSURIGAO DEL SUR, Feb 10 (PIA) - The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) and Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) spearheaded recently an orientation on Alternative Dispute Resolution in the cooperative sector and differentiate mediation-conciliation from arbitration to the 40 officials of the 17 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARB) cooperatives in Tandag City.
The activity forms part of the DAR - CDA partnership program thru “Strengthening and Capacity Building" of ARB cooperatives.
During the orientation, CDA Caraga regional director Genaro Pogata, Jr. discussed the Implementing Rules Regulations under Article 137 of R.A. 9520, an Act amending the Cooperative Code of the Philippines, also known as the “Philippine Cooperative Code of 2008.”
According to CDA Provincial officer Rodel Saldaña, the DAR-CDA partnership program was intended to help Agrarian Reform Beneficiary cooperatives acquire and maintain their judicial personality through the issuance of certificate of good standing from CDA.
