SurSur DAR set to join 26th CARP anniversary celebration in Caraga

DAR-LogoTandag, City (DWDD) – The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Provincial Office in Surigao del Sur is set to join the opening salvo of the 26th Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) anniversary celebration in Butuan City starting June 10.

Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer (PARO) Benjamin Mataksil bared that the considered monthlong event that will culminate on June 30 is bereft of a specific theme that normally comes from the central office.

Notwithstanding the situation, he stressed that everybody in his office has already been set for the activities lined up as agreed upon.

Thanksgiving mass, motorcade, Caraga-wide Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARB) Congress simultaneous with the holding of Agrarian Reform Communities (ARC) Tiangge are the highlights for the opening day.

Meanwhile, Mataksil said that on specific dates starting June 16 up to the end of the month, which is also known as the Agrarian Reform month celebration,  series of activities are likewise scheduled to take place, to wit:  June 16 – luncheon press conference @ Robinson’s function room; June 16-22 – 26th CARP photo gallery exhibit set at Robinson’s Place Atrium; June 19 – DAR Employees Association (DAREA) assembly; June 24 – 26 – Regional Sports Fest @ Surigao del Norte Sports Complex; and, June 30 – culmination and awarding ceremony.

However, he added that a Literary and Musical Extravaganza, which carries the theme “Ganito Kami Noon at Ito na Kami Ngayon,” is also going to be undertaken.

It was learned that the said show will feature a cultural presentation of traditional and modern dances. AES
