Appeal of the CBCP to Her Excellency Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, President of the Republic of the Philippines, Hon. House Speaker Prospero Nograles and Members of the House of Representatives, Hon. Senate President Manny B. Villar and Members of the Philippine Senate, and Hon. Chief Justice Reynato S. Puno, requesting the urgency of passing a Bill to extend the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) and institute progressive reforms that would truly benefit our poor farmers who remain landless.

The Church joins the aspirations, hopes and dreams of the rural farmers because of the extent of rural poverty and the necessityof "freedom from bondage to land" through genuine legal agrarian reform and war against rural landlessness.
