Updates on the Status of CARP Extension Bill at the Senate

Plenary deliberations was terminated on May 11, 2009 wherein majority of the Senators already interpellated the sponsor; Senator Gregorio Honasan.
Period of amendments has been tackled on May 13, 2009. Consolidated amendments to Senate Bill 2666 were presented out of the individual amendment by Senators.
The final consolidated / amended version of SB 2666 with possible additional amendments will be presented during the plenary on Wednesday, May 27 for votation 1 approval.

Updates on the Status of CARP Extension Bill at the Lower House

As a result of the CBCP-DAR Lower House dialogue on CARP Extension Bill, a Technical Working Group (TWG) was organized by Speaker Prospero Nograles. The TWG was convened by Cong. Elias Bulut, Jr., Chairman, Agrarian Reform Committee last April 28, 2009 at Mitra Hall, House of Representatives. A Final Report of the Technical Working Group on the Law on the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) was submitted to the Office of the Speaker on May 9, 2009.
Speaker Nograles has committed to pass the CARP Extension Bill which is included in the priority bills for plenary deliberation/approval by the Lower House before the sine die adjournment on June 5,2009.
