absThe Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has started gathering documents to determine the reach of the controversial Batangas estate linked to Vice President Jejomar Binay and whether there are indeed irregularities.

DAR Undersecretary Tony Parungao said they will go to the Senate today to secure copies of other documents submitted by resource persons and the transcript of Senate hearings.

He added they will visit the Batangas property this week.

The DAR said a violation of any provision of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program will be tantamount to a criminal liability.

It added ownership of the property can be cancelled and forfeited to the government.

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), meanwhile, said they will run after all those involved in the transactions.
