PIAnewlogo2017URDANETA CITY, June 14 (PIA) - Just when people thought only those behind bars are being catered to by justice on wheels, another intervention will soon be rolling, this time for matters of agrarian reform.

The Agrarian Reform Justice on Wheels (ARJOW) is much like the concept of the arbitration board from central office in Manila that would travel to regions and provinces where case load on agrarian disputes are high and case resolution is low.

No less than Secretary Rafael ‘Ka Paeng’ Mariano of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) announced the start of the ARJOW this June.

“Malaking tulong ito na lalapit ang serbisyong agrarian sa ating mga kababayan. This will ease congestion of cases,” Mariano said during the Farmers Festival held in Pangasinan.

Hand-in-hand with the ARJOW is the re-activation and strengthening of the Barangay Agrarian Reform Committee (BARC).

Mariano said the BARC is the first line of consultation, mediation, and arbitration of agrarian cases and resolve cases amicably at the first level.

"Sabarangay level pa lang, mapapabilis na angdispositionatresolutionngagrarian cases,” he explained.

The Secretary came to Pangasinan to personally distribute Certificates of Land Ownership Awards (CLOA) to 470 farmer- beneficiaries and certificates of completion to 71 graduates of the Farmers Business School. (JNPD/VHS/PIA-Pangasinan)
