DAR DAVAO City to Conduct Profiling to 7019 ARBs

The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has tapped the expertise of Berkman International Incorporated in conducting the profiling of at least one million agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) all over the country. This was revealed by Davao City OIC Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer II (PARO) Ernesto B. Tan during the briefing on ARB profiling for Davao City held last August 28, 2009 at the Provincial Agrarian Reform Office and participated by the enumerators, Provincial Supervisors and selected DAR personnel.
PARO Tan said that the purpose of this ARB profiling is to generate a complete profile of 7,019 arbs, with 15 enumerators as Davao city's share of the 1 million ARBs targeted nationwide with 1,515 enumerators under the supervision of 485 municipal supervisors. It also seeks to establish and maintain database at the Municipal, provincial, regional and central level of DAR offices. And it shall also serves as a tool for knowing the whereabouts of the ARBs including their economic conditions so that the office can make policy decisions and program interventions.
According to PARO Ernesto Tan, the ARB profiling target for Davao City of 7,019 is divided among the 6 municipal agrarian reform offices (MARO): 909 arbs for Baguio , 1,188 for Buhangin,Paquibato and Buhangin; 1,843 for Calinan, 625 for Marlog; 1,319 arbs for Talomo and Toril and 1,135 for MARO Tugbok.
Also present during the ARB briefing was Mr. Geronimo Alino, Berkman International Inc. Island Coordinator for Regions XI and XI. He said that while this activity entails a lot of hard work, he challenged the group to make it a happy endeavor. "It is my duty to make sure that funds are available for the activity", Alino added.
The 15 enumerators that included DAR scholars were carefully selected by DAR. They shall be responsible in the conduct of the interview, while the MARO shall provide assistance in locating the ARBs identified based on the masterlist, and review and validate the correctness of the data gathered before the issuance of the certificate of acceptance. The DAR Provincial Office shall provide the enumeratos through the MAROs the updated masterlist of ARBs .
PARO Tan added that the profiling of the 7,019 ARBs should be completed within two months with a daily output of 117 profiles per day.
"This will be out first major activity after the CARP extension with Reforms (CARPER) law was signed into law last August 7, 2009 by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo at Plaridel Bulacan" said PARO Tan.
