
DAR joins NCIP 2008 sportsfest. The department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) together with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) joined the 2008 sportsfest of the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) as it celebrate its 11th IP Week last October 22-30, 2008 at the DAR Multi-Purpose Gymnasium. The events include (Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, Chess, Table Tennis and Darts). The outdoor games were held at the DAR Gymnasium while the indoor games were held at the NCIP lobby.

Run for Peace. In celebration of the National Peace Conciousness Month, the Office of the President (OP) thru the Office of the External Affairs (OEA) has sponsored "Run for Peace", an 8.8 kilometer run from Quirino Granstand to Senate grounds and back last Septemeber 20, 2008 at 6:00 a.m..Around 50 DAR employees joind the run. Ma. Luzviminda S. Ringor of the Bureau of Land Acquisition and Distribution (BLAD) (the one holding the trophy) bagged the ladies championship trophy in her age category.

![]() Relief Operation. Agrarian Reform Secretary Nasser C. Pangandaman (2nd from the right) receives the relief goods from the heads of various government, non-government organizations and urban communities to help the victims of typhoon Frank in Antique. The relief operation, spearheaded by the Office of the External Affairs (OEA) under the Office of the President, facilitated the collection of relief goods and donations. Recipients of the said goods are the farmers in 10 agrarian reform communities in the municipalities of San Remegio and Valderama in Antique namely: Trinidad, Bugo, Bagong Bayan, San Rafael, Carawisan, Barambang, Magdalena, Vilvar, Iglinap and Pandan.
