DAR NEGROS NORTH LAUNCHED TWO SITES FOR FARM BUSINESS SCHOOL PROJECT

The Department of Agrarian Reform Negros Occidental North in partnership with LGU Toboso and Cadiz City launched two sites for Farm Business School Project on a separate events at Barangay Tabun-ac in Toboso town and Barangay Luna in Cadiz City last April 3 and 23, respectively.

The project which was participated by a total of 60 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) from Hagnaya Agrarian Reform Cooperative in the municipality of Toboso and Caridad Farmers Association in Cadiz City aims to develop a sustainable vegetable production systems and boost the marketing skills of the farmers.

Barangay Tabun-ac Captain Dante Sabillo, in his message, encouraged ARB-members of Hagnaya ARC to continue with strengthening their organization and to be a good steward of the projects entrusted to them by the different national agencies.

It can be recalled that Hagnaya ARC received farm tractors with implements worth P4.5M through DAR’s Agrarian Reform Community Connectivity and Economic Support Services (ARCCESS) Project last April 2018.

Municipal Agriculture Officer Noel Tan, also of Toboso, assured the ARBs of the ready assistance from the local government and congratulated them for yet another successful endeavor.

Cadiz City Agriculture Officer Enrique Escares III, on the other hand, said that Cadiz LGU prioritize assistance for rice and vegetable production. He further said that the associations are to accredit to the city to be able to avail of the support services from the Department of Agriculture through the local government. He further encouraged the farmer-beneficiaries to diversify.

DAR-Support Services Division OIC-Chief Agrarian Reform Program Officer Rizalina Yuguing and DAR Municipal Agrarian Reform Program Officers Jasmin Castillo and Myrna Omaliao led the activity with the assistance from the respective local government officials.
