San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte – The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) recently turned-over P18-million worth of infrastructure projects in Damilian agrarian reform community (ARC) in this province.
The projects, implemented under Agrarian Reform Infrastructure Support Project phase-III (ARISP-III), include the P10.8-million San Agustin-San Lorenzo-Bingao farm-to-market road and the P7.2-million San Lorenzo East-West Communal irrigation system (CIS).
Agrarian Reform Secretary Gil delos Reyes, who graced the turn-over ceremony, said that the infrastructure projects are expected to boost the economic lives of the farmers in the community.
The eight (8)-kilometer farm-to-market road would give the farmers a faster and an easier access to transport their farm-products to market.
The East-West CIS would increase the production of the farmers as it covers barangays San Marcos, San Lorenzo, San Agustin and San Guillermo.
The ARC is a convergence zone for the delivery of support services such as infrastructure projects, livelihood and financing programs.
