DAR distributes agri lands in Negros Oriental

web03 pamplonaThe Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) recently awarded 88 hectares of agricultural lands to 86 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in Barangay Azagra, Tanjay City in Negros Oriental.
Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II (PARPOII) Louie Naranjo said the landholding was formerly owned by Pamplona Plantation Company Incorporated, represented by former Sen. John Osmena.
“The distribution of certificates of landownership awards (CLOAs) to the beneficiaries of Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) materialized through the collaboration of DAR, Tanjay City Assessor's Office and Treasurer's Office,” Naranjo said.
Naranjo told the ARBs that the program doesn’t end in awarding the land but it also includes the provision of necessary support services to boost the productivity of their lands as well as their economic lives.
He also reminded the ARBs of their obligations to pay the annual amortization to the Landbank of the Philippines and real estate tax to the government.
Also present during the awarding ceremony were representatives of  Tanjay City assessor‘s and treasurer's offices, Landbank representative, Mr. Gilton Bation, Azagra Barangay Captain Felix Mira Jr. and other barangay officials.
