DAR turns over P3.7 million project to farmers’ coop in Agusan Norte

Web Agusan01The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) recently turned over P3.7- million Post Harvest Facility P3.7 million to Libas Farmers Multi-purpose Cooperative (LFMPC) in Barangay Libas of Jabonga town in Agusan del Norte to boost the economic condition of our farmers.
DAR Caraga Regional Director Faisar Mambuay said the municipality of Jabonga, for years, has been the recipients of various projects, which include small-scale interventions such as farm-to-market road, irrigation system, agrienterprise projects, and post-harvest facility. Web Agusan02LFMPC Chairman Elson P. Morada  said the infrastructure project addresses  the cooperative’s proposed business venture.
“The project has a floor area of 200 square meter consisted of five rooms, a comfort room, an office, fully-furnished fixture and hardwood door and window frames, equipped with lighting and water systems suitable for our proposed Coco Virgin Oil Processing Plant,” Morada said.
Jabonga Mayor Jasmin F. Monton, on the other hand, expressed her message of gratitude to DAR for the package of interventions that boosted economic condition not only on LFMPC but also all farmers within the agrarian reform community (ARC) in Jabonga.
“I encourage the LFMPC to take care of the project and make their business become commercially
viable,” Monton added.
The project is jointly funded by Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), implemented under the Agrarian Reform Infrastructure Support Project Phase III (ARISP-III), and the local government unit of Jabonga.
