The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) recently distributed about 49 hectares of agricultural lands in Amlan, Negros Oriental to boost the economic condition of 20 farmer-beneficiaries cultivating the property owned by Fleischer family.
Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer (PARPO) Louie L. Naranjo said the land, located in Barangay Bio-os, was acquired from former landowner Antonette Fleischer through voluntary offer to sell (VOS) under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP).
Naranjo advised farmer-beneficiaries to honor their obligations by paying their regular amortizations as well as real estate tax as a way of reciprocating the government’s good gesture of providing them farmlots which they have been aspiring for.
“Take care of your newly acquired farmlots and make them more productive as ever. In return, the government would do its part by providing you the needed support services,” Naranjo said.
After the distribution of the land titles, the farmer-beneficiaries were oriented on Bana Grass Production Technology which they could avail themselves of to improve their productions.
