The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) recently distributed 17 certificates of land ownership award (CLOAs) to 16 farmer-beneficiaries in Novallas, Tanjay City in Negros Oriental to improve their economic lives.
Municipal Agrarian Reform Program Officer (MARPO) Felipe Gaviola said the 20.65-hectares of land formerly owned by Josefa Villegas, was offered through voluntary offer to sell (VOS) scheme by Rural Bank of Bais Incorporated.
“Through the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP), the government was able to provide you farmlots you were aspiring for years. Reciprocate the government’s good deeds by paying amortizations regularly,” Gaviola said.
Gaviola also advised the agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) to take care and make their newly acquired farmlots more productive because the government, in return, would do its part by providing them the needed support services.
The distribution of CLOA was initiated by DAR Municipal Agrarian Reform Office of Tanjay City headed by MARPO Gaviola and other municipal staff in coordination with the Provincial Agrarian Reform Office. The event was attended by Vice Governor Mark Edward Macias and other local government officials.
