The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has recently turned over five units of floating tiller to 1,000 farmers of Nararagan Valley Multi-purpose Cooperative in Nararagan Valley Agrarian Reform Community (ARC) in Ballesteros, Cagayan.
Regional Director Atty. Marjorie P. Ayson said the Nararagan Valley MPC has also received three units of hand tractor with implements and trailer, two units of rice thresher, four units of water pump and one unit of flatbed dryer.
She said the machineries will service not only the Nararagan Valley MPC but also the Golden Harvest Cluster MPC in Abulug, Cagayan and an estimated overall service area of 1,746 hectares.
Ayson said the equipment are designed to increase the said ARBOs’ agri-produce, improve their access to appropriate agricultural technologies and lessen their farm expenses.
Ayson added that the farm machineries were distributed under the Agrarian Reform Community Connectivity and Economic Support Services (ARCCESS) project of the Department, which targets ARBs’ increased production and engagement in agri-based and related enterprises.
The Nararagan Valley MPC will also receive a four- wheeled tractor 35 horse-powered with implement in the next batch of CSF distribution under the ARCCESS project. (Danielicah S. Cruz)
