The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has recently conducted trainings on the swine project in Agrarian Reform Community (ARC) of Bulihan, San Antonio, Quezon.
Regional Director Engr. Rodolfo S. Pangilinan said the project is under Agriculture and Agribusiness Development component of Agrarian Reform Infrastructure Support Project III (ARISP III).
He said the first round of training was conducted in 2014 dealing with the topic on construction of the housing and the establishment of forage farm, including feeding management.
Pangilinan added the final round of training concerns hands-on application on the preparation of organic feeds and pesticides.
San Antonio Mayor Erick Wagan expressed his full support in the implementation of the project by donating Php 177,000.00 in behalf of the San Antonio municipal government for the construction of the required swine’s housing.
It is envisioned that by 2016, Roxas Estate MPC, the ARB organization recipient will become the supplier of native swine in the municipality and the neighboring barangays of Tiaong.
Likewise, an estimated 30% increase in income of the cooperative will be met according to Pangilinan. Part of the project implementation is the development of full time employees to become caretakers of the livestock in-charge of preparing organic feeds.
