DAR Turns Over Farm Machines To Sorsogon Farmers

news national july 16 2015 1The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) recently turned over 14 farm machineries to farmers’ cooperatives in Sorsogon to help agrarian reform beneficiaries modernize their farming and increase their income.

Eight tractors and 6 rice threshers were given to two farmers’ organizations namely: the Mayon Farmers Association (MAFA) and the Capuy-Basud Multipurpose Cooperative (CABAMUCO) in the municipalities of Castilla and Capuy respectively. news national july 16 2015 2“With these machines, our farmer-beneficiaries can now till their farms faster and more efficiently. These [machines] will greatly help in decreasing loses in production and increasing their yield and income,” said Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer Leonito Gaveria.

Witnessing the turnover were 1st District Rep. Evie “Nanay” Escudero, Mayor Olive Bermillo and  City Agriculturist Officer Adeline J. Detera.

Farm implements are being provided to agrarian reform beneficiaries under the DAR’s Agrarian Reform Community Connectivity and Economic Support Services (ARCCESS) Project.
