news national pix 1 oct. 30 2015The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has recently turned over five infrastructure projects under Bottoms-Up-Budgeting (BUB) with the local government unit (LGU) of Calamba benefitting seven barangays in the said municipality in Misamis Occidental.

Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer (PARPO) II Alibasa G. Andig said the projects worth Php 5 million, consist of four concrete farm-to-market roads to provide easy access to  2,000 agrarian reform beneficiaries and a day-care center improvement project.

Misamis Occidental Vice-Governor Aurora Virginia Almonte lauded the efforts of DAR and Calamba LGU under Mayor Ezel Villanueva for successfully implementing the projects.

Mayor Villanueva expressed her gratitude to the DAR for funding the projects and hope the projects will spill over more developments in the area.

DAR Assistant Regional Director Teresita Depeñoso said the BUB road concreting projects are part of the support services program implemented in the ARCs.

She added the importance of sustaining the seal of good housekeeping/seal of good local governance by the local government because it is now a requirement for approval of most government projects like BUB. (Arnold V. Quicoy)
