Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer (PARPO) II James Arthur T. Dubongco said the project is in partnership with Multi-Sectoral Management and Development Corporation (MMDC), which is responsible for introducing the organic rice production in the area.

He added that the harvest festival was being supervised by the MMDC as agri-technology/agri-extension (AES) service provider.

He said that the Brgy. Bunga Tanza Farmers Association, is a sub-project in Tanza, Cavite under the Agrarian Reform Community Connectivity and Economic Support Services (ARCCESS).
Z WEB NATL 20151109 R04A CAV 02Generoso Lumbres, Crop Specialist of MMDC said the said demo farm was planted with seven varieties of rice such as, jasmine local, jasmine MMDC, Brunei, Philrice 300 x 298, IRI David, NSIC Rc 298 and NSIC Rc 304.

He said that from the harvested varieties, he would choose the kind of crop he would recommend to the farmers to increase their crop yield.

Lumbres said it is projected that for one-hectare techno demo organic rice production, the farmers would harvest 7,000 kilos of rice.

He added that the organic rice commands higher price per kilo compared to commercial rice, thus, encouraging farmer-beneficiaries to increase farm productivity.

Members of the Brgy. Bunga Tanza Farmers Association thanked the DAR for its relentless support to them.
