DAR distributes 3,381 hectares of lands in Sultan Kudarat

Z DARWEB NATL R12 SKUDARATThe Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) recently distributed certificates of land titles covering some 3,381.60 hectares in the municipality of Palimbang, Sultan Kudarat hoping it would boost the economic lives of the new landowners.

Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer I (PARPO I) Pabil Marohomsalic  said 1,236 farmers from Barangay Batang Bagras received the awarded lands.

“Aside from the awarded lands, DAR will also provide support services to you (farmer-beneficiaries) such as livelihood projects, farm-to-market roads, and various trainings to improve productivity,” Marohomsalic said.

Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II (PARPO II) Rodolfo Alburo said as of November 30, 2015, some 15,360 farmer-beneficiaries in Palimbang were awarded with a total land area of 40,899.4381 hectares.

“Barangay Batang Bangras is now declared as a special agrarian reform community (ARC), bringing to 17 the number of ARCs in the province. The support services would certainly pour into this areas as soon as possible,” Alburo said.

On the other hand, Administrator Zahara Maulana expressed her gratitude to the DAR in behalf of Mayor Abubacar Maulana. “The awarded lands will contribute to the peace efforts of local government and will spur economic development in the municipality,” Maulana said.

Marohomsalic also reminded the farmer-beneficiaries not to sell the land to traders because it is given to them by the government thru DAR to improve their lives.
