Thirty-nine (39) agrarian reform beneficiaries in Agusan del Norte recently received certificates of land ownership award (CLOA) during the kick-off ceremony of the 28th Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) Anniversary celebration.
Regional Director Julita A. Ragandang said a total of 73 hectares of land titles were handed-over to the farmer-beneficiaries.
Ragandang said the department is committed to ensure positive gains in the fight against rural poverty of all agrarian reform beneficiaries in the region.
She added that land acquisition and distribution in the province as of December 31, 2015 has an overall accomplishment of 92%, or a distribution of 39,832 hectares out of the total scope of 43,216 hectares.
Ragandang said the landholdings distributed to 20,775 soil tillers came from different agrarian reform communities (ARCs) in the province.
“Republic Act 9700 or the CARP Extension with Reform (CARPer) expired in 2014, the agency in this province has intensified efforts to distribute targetted lands to complete the 3,384 hectares balance already covered by notice of coverage before the expiration of CARPer”, Ragandang said.
