DAR Undersecretary for Foreign Assisted Project Herman Ongkiko said some 6,000 residents of the barangays can now avail of government services such as health, technology and transportation now that the barangays are accessible.
Also turned over was the Abangay communal irrigation project (CIP). The CIP can irrigate 40 hectares of farmlands to farmers of Barangays Abangay and Dingle. The infrastructure projects worth P26.8-M was implemented under the Agrarian Reform Infrastructure Support Projects (ARISP) and funded by the Jica.
Also present during the project turn over were: Incoming DAR Undersecretary Sylvia Mallari, ARISP National Project Manager Ma. Celerina Afable, DAR Regional Director Gideon Umadhay, Iloilo 4th District Congressman Ferjenel Biron and the Barangay officials of Abangay, Siniba-an and Pandan.
