news national 2 pix 1 august 17 2016DAVAO CITY (Aug. 17, 2016)— Agrarian Reform Secretary Rafael Mariano (third from right) together with other government officials clenched their fists to express unity and support for the crafting of President Rodrigo Duterte’s development agenda for the country.

Participants who are here for the summit entitled “Sulong Pilipinas: A Social Development Initiatives Summit,” are government officials belonging to the social development cluster.

The summit will tackle anti-poverty programs, ways to address the most vulnerable sectors of the society such as the farmers, the Lumads, and informal sectors in urban centers, and alleviate poverty in 20 most least-developed provinces in the Philippines.

Around 300 participants from non-government organizations (NGOs), government workers, and experts on social development will likewise take part in the event.

The summit is being held at the SMX Convention Center Davao. (Rexy Arcaina)
