DILIMAN, Quezon City (Aug. 26, 2016)—Agrarian Reform Secretary Rafael Mariano received a courtesy call from His Excellency Ambassador Massimo Roscigno, the Italian Ambassador to the Philippines.
Ambassador Roscigno presented to the Secretary the projects and programs currently being executed by the Department under the Italian Assistance on the Agrarian Reform Community Development Support Program (IARCDSP).
Roscigno said the IARCDSP seeks to eradicate poverty and hunger of farming families through rural infrastructure, agri-enterprise development, capacity building and project management. He said P2.52 billion is allotted for these projects covering 26 municipalities, 35 agrarian reform communities (ARCs) and 117 barangays in Region 11 and the ARMM.
For his part, Mariano extended his appreciation and gratitude to the Ambassador for their generous support and assistance to the peace process, for helping in the development of ARC’s and for supporting the agrarian reform program. (Pinky Roque)
