BACOLOD CITY (Sept. 10, 2016)— More than 300 farmers listened to agrarian reform Secretary Rafael Mariano and DAR lawyer Joebert Pahilga impart to them the salient points of the genuine agrarian reform bill (GARB).
Mariano said the department badly needs a new agrarian reform law that is pro-farmers. “My foremost objective of protecting and defending the rights of farmers are contained in this bill.”
“I am convinced that if GARB will be enacted or a “retooled” agrarian reform program will be made, the DAR has a sound and viable program for sustained rural development,” Mariano added.
The GARB is filed in the House of Representative under House Bill 555.
