DAR opens Farmer’s Business Center in Bohol

news national 1 pix 1 nov. 9 2016The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Bohol and the Bohol Federation of Agrarian Reform Communities Cooperative (BFARCCO) recently opened the Provincial Agrarian Information and Marketing Center (P-AIMC) as the Farmer’s Business Center - “Market in the Park”  in  Diwa Partylist Center near the Hall of Justice, Tagbilaran, Bohol.

Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer  Grace Fua said  P-AIMC, a Japan-funded project through the Agrarian Reform Infrastructure Support Project, Phase III of the DAR with the support of the Provincial Government of Bohol. news national 1 pix 2 nov. 9 2016Fua said the marketing center showcased Agrarian Reform Community (ARC) products such as banana chips, pineapple marmalade, corn coffee from ARC Bicao in Carmen; vinegar and soap products from ARC Sr. San Isidro Labrador MPC (SESILAMCO) in Clarin, and Untaga Farmers MPC in Alicia, ginger products from ARC Guio-ang, Guindulman, noodles from ARC Jagna, vegetables, banana, and other root crops from various ARC areas.

news national 1 pix 3 nov. 9 2016DTI Provincial Director Angeline Pauline Gonzales congratulated the BFARCCO for their efforts to realize their dreams in providing business opportunities to the 20 primary cooperative members by establishing and creating a market access for the farm products.

BFARCCO Manager Edward Dumagan said that the ARC products displayed and for sale include rice, vinegar, squash dried noodles, polvoron, corn coffee, salabat tea and candies, turmeric, processed meat products, jam, pineapple marmalade, soap, virgin coconut oil, native bags, raffia table runners, among others.

Gitgano thanked the DAR, DTI, Bohol Governor Edgar M. Chatto and City Mayor John Geesnell Yap  for their support.

BFARCCO welcomes other primary Agrarian Reform Community (ARC) cooperatives to join the business venture.
