The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) recently awarded nine top performing Agrarian Reform Beneficiary Organizations (ARBOs) in the Agrarian Reform Communities (ARCs) in Bohol in celebration of the 8th year anniversary of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program Extension with Reforms.
Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer Grace B. Fua said that out of the 4,402 ARBOs nationwide, 214 ARBOs in Region 7 and 106 ARBOs in Bohol which were subjected to assessment in terms of the level of development through a technology called Information Technology Enable Maturity Assessment (ITEMA) in 2016, nine ARBOs in Bohol emerged as within the top 100 ranks.
Fua disclosed the ARBOs awardees in Bohol were Top 14 – PNB KGB Multipurpose Cooperative in Carmen, Top 20 – Tinabangay Sa Igsoong Mag-uuma Gasa ni San Isidro (TIMGAS) MPC in Trinidad,Top 24 – Libertad Multipurpose Cooperative in Tubigon, Top 55 – Sr. San Isidro Labrador MPC (SESILAMCO) in Clarin, Top 64 – Mantacida United Farmers MPC (MUFAMPUCO) in Catigbian,Top 69 – Guio-ang MPC in Guindulman, Top 84-Bohol Bayanihan MPC in Talibon, Top 87-Cambaol Farmers MPC in Alicia and Top 99-Santa Ana MPC (SAMCO) in Candijay.
Fua thanked the entire workforce of DAR Bohol for the unity and cooperation in achieving the said recognition nationwide.
“It shows that DAR Bohol is working on the right tract in improving the lives of the agrarian farmers,” she added.
Brenda Castanares of SAMCO MPC expressed her deep gratitude for the assistance of DAR in mentoring their cooperatives to make them strong and progressive.
The activity started with a Holy Mass officiated Fr. Butch Palapar followed by the awarding rites and information sharing on Anti-Red Tape Act by PARPO Fua, Employees Compensation Benefits by Personnel Office Fe Ylaya, EO 26 on Non-Smoking Ban by PIO Merly Bantugan and Topics on Drugs by Legal Officer Donald Doron.
