Tagum City, 04 October 2017. The Department of Agrarian Reform on Tuesday, October 3 conducted a dialogue with more or less 1,000 members of Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas – Southern Mindanao Region at the DAR Provincial Office here.
The dialogue was led by DAR Undersecretary for Field Operations Office Karlo S. Bello together with Public Assistance and Media Relations Service Director Leomides R. Villareal, DAR Region 11 Director Joseph H. Orilla, Bureau of Land Tenure Improvement (BLTI) Assistant Director Engr. Joey G. Sumatra, Davao del Norte Chief of Legal Division Atty. Joselito Pingoy, DAR-11 Assistant Regional Director for Vincheto Mandap and other DAR Officials in the region.
Bello said the dialogue was carried out response to the previous request made by KMP-SMR to follow-up the previous commitments of DAR for the cases involving the Tagum Development Corporation controlled landholdings Worldwide Agricultural Development Corporation, Worldwide Employees Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Multi-Purpose Cooperative, and the WADECOR Employees Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Inc. in Barangay Carmen, Panabo City; Lapanday Foods Corporation owned by Hijo Plantation Inc., Madaum ARBs, Inc., Gagmay Mag-uuma Madaum ARBs, Inc., Hijo ARBs Cooperative in Madaum, Tagum City; Banana Beach Farm or Tuazon Farm in Madaum and San Isidro, Tagum City and MEPI/ MARSMAN in Kasilak, Panabo City; all in the province of Davao del Norte.
Included among the issues raised during the dialogue were the immediate resolution of the pending petition for issuance of an Order of Installation; the petition for intervention and investigation; the issuance of an alias writ of execution and resolution; cancellation of the contract; request for subsidy; and the petition for nullification or cancellation and reallocation, Bello added.
In agrarian reform terms, installation means the farmers should physically take over the lands which were awarded to them under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program.
Bello assured the leaders and members of KMP-SMR to follow-up their cases filed at Legal Affairs Office of the DAR and other concerned offices and to track down the documents.
Present during the dialogue include Virgilio Cabintoy, a representative form WEARBAI; Huel Hoyle from Linda Employees Agrarian Reform Association, Inc.; Jeffrey Cadelino from Checkered Farms Multi-Purpose Cooperative; Vilma Bolambao from PAHECO Employees Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries; Dionisio Batoon from NEARBAI; Diosdado de Jesus from UFEARBAI; Jeremias Coralde from HEARBAI; Germanita Ulbenario from HARBCO; Rene Lomongo from GMARBAI; Jaime Clara from AMSARBO; and Jerry Alborme from KMP-SMR.
Prior to the dialogue, leaders, and members of KMP-SMR gather in front of DAR Provincial Office in Davao del Norte since September 27.
Among their demands was the recently concluded dialogue with top officials of DAR from the national and regional levels here.
