DAR-Davao successfully installs ARBs

news national 3 pix 1 july 28 2018The Department of Agrarian Reform in Region 11 (DAR-11) has successfully installed 117 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in different landholdings for the past six months.

This was reported by DAR Regional Director Joseph Orilla during the department’s 2018 mid-year performance review and planning in Tagaytay City.

Orilla said most of these installations underwent a very rough implementation and processes.

“After numerous failed attempts caused by resistance and threats from the previous landowners, these uninstalled farmer-beneficiaries were finally able to enter their awarded lands though diligent efforts of the department,” said Orilla.

According to Orilla, to ensure peaceful installations, the DAR partnered with the Phil. National Police (PNP), Commission on Human Rights, the Ombudsman, Bureau of Fire Protection, Department of Health, and other stakeholders.

“We held series of planning conferences to ensure the successful installation of farmer beneficiaries,” Orilla said.

Farmer installations are DAR’s move to ensure that farmers who were awarded with CLOAs will actually take physical possession of their awarded lands.

The DAR’s performance review and planning session was held to resolve and address problems in implementing agrarian reform.
