DAR receives Certificate of Collaboration from the Office of the President – achieves 99% response rate for 8888 Citizens’ Complaints Hotline

news national 2 pix 1 august 31 2018Quezon City, August 31, 2018- The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) top officials received last August 28, 2018 a Certificate of Collaboration from the Office of the Cabinet Secretary (OCS), Office of the President (OP), for the DAR’s compliance with the requirements for collaboration in the implementation and operation of  8888 Citizens’ Complaints Hotline.

The 8888 or President’s Hotline was introduced in 2016 to allow members of the public to report poor government front-line services delivery and corrupt practices in all government agencies and all other government instrumentalities.

The OCS-OP also congratulated DAR who achieved 99% response rate on complaints and emergency calls through 8888 emergency hotline. The DAR has responded to 405 out of the total 410 complaints received. Majority of the complaints not responded to were referred by DAR to other agencies.

Castriciones expressed gratitude to the delegates of OCS-OP for the Certificate they presented. “This was an accomplishment which was, of course, enhanced by the cooperation and the teamwork of all the employees of the Department, and therefore it is a big victory for the Department which has a mission to really help the farmers.” “We appreciate the efforts of PAMRS-CRD for a job well done.” Castriciones added.
