DAR Christmas bazaar features farmers’ products

news national 1 pix 1 december 18 2018QUEZON CITY—The Filipino’s creativity and entrepreneurship take center stage as the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) holds a Christmas bazaar from December 17-21 at the DAR compound. Booths will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The bazaar will showcase various products of agrarian reform beneficiaries from all over the country.

The bazaar will bring together the best of the country’s agricultural products for sale and display such as fresh and processed poultry and meat products, ingredients and additives, beverages, vegetable products, delicacies, jams, candles, packaging materials, furniture, native handicraft, novelty items, and organic products, among others.

“We have to support rural sector initiatives. By patronizing the goods and services of our farmers, we are also encouraging our rural communities to be more enterprising, while enhancing the market potential of their farm produce,” Castriciones said.

news national 1 pix 3 december 18 2018“This [event] aims to promote products grown and produced by our agrarian beneficiaries which are at par, if not better and cheaper than commercial goods,” Castriciones added.

With the theme “DARe to Shine! Sa Pasko at Bagong Taon na Darating, Pagbabago ay Kamtin,” the event is expected to draw the public and get their money’s worth out of farmers’ fresh produce, traditional crops, and organic and wellness products.
