Municipal Agrarian Reform Program Officer (MARPO) Esther Geyroza urged the new landowners, who are mostly into vegetable production, to double their effort in cultivating their farm. “However small the parcel is, if properly cultivated, it can sustain generations,” she added.

Geyroza said the agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) received certified true copies of certificates of landownership award (CLOAs). The original titles were deposited at the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP), being the paying arm of all compensable areas under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program Extension with Reforms (CARPer).
She explained that the original copies of CLOAs will be handed over to the ARBs as soon as full-payment of the land value is already secured.

Prior to the distribution, the MARPO said that she explained to the ARBs the duties and obligations as new small landholders, which include annual amortization to the LBP and real estate taxes.

Geyroza said the DAR also assessed the needed support services of the ARBs. “A non-traditional type of irrigation system was identified as priority and a crop house (an indigenous green house) model. They will be put up in the area for their agri-production,” she added.
