DAR Region-I Director Rodolfo S. Pangilinan said the distributed property, under the name of Leon Ortega covered by Title No. 13202 (Lot 1-L-1), was acquired by DAR through the Voluntary Land Transfer (VLT) scheme.

Since the implementation of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) in 1988, DAR-La Union has already distributed a total of 18,639.75 hectares.
“With the near completion of Land Distribution and Acquisition (LAD) of land reform in this province, the DAR will focus on the delivery of support services to the farmer-beneficiaries through their accredited organizations/cooperatives,” Pangilinan said.

Pangasinan Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer (PARPO) Maria Ana Francisco, who graced the occasion, said that the government's land reform program does not end in distributing agricultural lands. It also implements support services to uplift the lives of the farmers in the countryside.
