DAR Installs 61 Farmers In Negros Oriental

dar web news 1 pix may 8 2014 400The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) installed 61 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in the municipalities of Mabinay and Sibulan in the province of Negros Oriental.

The farmers in Barangay Luyang, Mabinay were installed in a 57-hectare landholding formerly owned by Mr. Genaro Goni. On the other hand, four (4) ARBs from Barangay San Antonion, Sibulan were installed in a 9.5 –hectare farm formerly owned by Cabrera Enterprises Properties.

The installations were initiated by Municipal Agrarian Reform Program Officers (MARPOs) Benjamin Empig and Eliseo Salvo while the actual activities were being led by Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II (PARPO) Louie Naranjo and Chief of LTI Division Manuel Galon, Jr.

During the installations, Naranjo discussed to the beneficiaries of Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) the rights and obligations of a landowner, as well as, the possible violations they should avoid to commit.

“Make your lands productive and pay your amortizations and taxes religiously. We are proud and happy that you are awarded with this land “Naranjo said.

On the other hand, Sibulan Mayor Emmanuel N. Diputado said the certificates of land ownership award (CLOAs) given to the farmers symbolizes the progress of the farmers in the community.
