DAR-7 Conducts Farm Equipment Testing Under ARCCESS Project

pic2July17The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Region VII recently inspected and tested P1.68-million worth of farm equipments to boost the farm products of Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations (ARBOs) in Cebu and Bohol.

Regional Director Stephen Leonidas said the farm machineries, which are composed of ten (10) hand tractors with farm implements will be used for coffee, palm oil, and vegetable farming, were acquired through the Agrarian Reform Community Connectivity and Economic Support Services (ARCCESS) project.

“The common service facilities procured under ARCCESS project will provide mechanized farming to support the farmer-beneficiaries’ food production capabilities for increased income and food security,” Leonidas said.
ARCCESS is an alternative rural development approach wherein support services provided by the DAR are delivered directly to selected ARBOs.

The activity was attended by the ARCCESS inspectorate team from DAR, Department of Agriculture and Department of Budget and Management.
