DAR Distributes Land Titles In Cebu

pic1aug5The Department of Agrarian Reform recently (DAR) distributed certificates of land ownership awards (CLOAs) to 73 farmer-beneficiaries in Cebu City sharing a total of 93 hectares of agricultural land.

The distributed land was acquired by the DAR through Operations Land Transfer from the landholdings previously owned by Eulalio Causing located in Lamac, Pinamungajan, Cebu.

During the event, Regional Director Stephen Leonidas assured the agrarian reform beneficiaries that the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) is a constitutional provision that will continue to exist unless the Constitution is amended.

Coinciding with the distribution of the CLOAs was the signing of memorandum of agreement (MOA) between DAR and the local government units of Santander, Samboan & Alegria to receive support for their agricultural projects through the ARCCESS projects.

ARCCESS is an alternative rural development approach wherein support services provided by the DAR are delivered directly to selected agrarian reform beneficiaries organizations.
The event was attended by Regional Director Stephen Leonidas, Assistant Regional Director Antonio del Socorro, Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) representative Jose Caberte and Provincial Agrarian Reform Coordination Committee (PARCCOM) Chairman Buenaventura Pomida.
