NEGROS OCCIDENTAL, Aug. 16 (PIA6) - - The Department of Agrarian Reform – South joined hands with the Civil Society Organizations to better implement the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program.
The CSOs that included Task Force Mapalad (TFM); Kaisahan Tungo sa Kaunlarang Kanayunan at Repormang Pansakahan, Inc.; Negros Occidental Federation of Farmer’s Association (NOFFA); Paghidaet sa Kauswagan Development Group, Inc. (PDG); Partido ng Manggagawa (PM); Social Action Center (SAC); Damayan ng Manggagawa, Magsasaka at Mangingisda sa Bansa (DAMMMBA), Inc.; DALO-MARA, AMA Negros and group of farmers from different districts vowed support to DAR to resolve issues and problems in agrarian reform.
Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer (PARPO) II Lucrecia S. Taberna urged the CSOs to join hands with DAR with in order to achieve the common goal of having a nation where there is equitable land ownership and empowered agrarian reform beneficiaries effectively managing their economic and social development for a better quality of life.
Through DAR’s dialogue with the CSOs, key problems like the installation of ARBs, identification of farmer beneficiaries (FBs), survey, rampant selling of rights, erroneous Notices of Coverage (NOCs) and others involving some other implementing agencies, a release from DAR said.
According to DAR, these issues and concerns will be consolidated and will be forwarded to the office of DAR Secretary Rafael Mariano to serve as one of the jumped off for the conduct of consultative dialogue to all stakeholders in Negros Occidental.
